Repair or replace

When to fix it and when to replace it

Most drips come from a worn cartridge or washer. On a quality faucet that’s an inexpensive part and a quick repair, so we’ll fix it.

We’ll suggest a new faucet when the finish is corroded at the base, the parts aren’t made anymore, or you’re redoing the vanity anyway. Either way, we check the parts underneath that usually get ignored.

  • Shutoff valves that open and close
  • Braided supply lines in good shape
  • Pop-up drain and trap sealed
  • Faucet mounted tight to the sink

Bathroom faucet FAQ

How do I know what faucet fits my sink?

Count the holes in the sink or vanity top and measure between the outer two. A 4 inch spread takes a centerset faucet, 8 inches takes a widespread, and a single hole takes a single-handle faucet.

Is a dripping faucet worth fixing?

Yes. A steady drip can waste thousands of gallons a year, and it usually means one small part has worn out.

Can you install a faucet I bought online?

Yes. Just make sure it fits your sink holes and comes with a drain if you need one.

Why does my faucet sputter after the water comes back on?

Air in the lines. Run it for a minute and it’ll clear. If it doesn’t, the aerator may have caught some debris.
