Kitchen drain cleaning in Pensacola, FL

Plungers and bottles of drain cleaner work for a while, then the sink backs up again. We clear the grease and food buildup from the line itself so the drain stays open.

Why it keeps clogging

What's really clogging your kitchen drain

Kitchen clogs are almost always grease. It goes down warm, cools in the pipe, and catches coffee grounds, rice, and food scraps until the opening is the size of a pencil.

If both sides of a double sink back up, or water comes up in one bowl when the disposal runs, the clog is past the trap and needs to be cleared from the line.

  • Water draining slower every week
  • Gurgling when the dishwasher drains
  • Backup into the other sink bowl
  • A smell that doesn't go away after cleaning
What we do

How we clear it

01

Trap & drain arm

If the clog is close, we pull and clean the trap and the drain arm into the wall, and replace worn slip joints.

02

Line rooting

For clogs further down, we run a drain cable through the line to cut through grease and buildup.

03

Camera inspection

When a drain keeps clogging, we put a camera down it to see whether it’s buildup, a sag, or a broken pipe.

04

Keeping it clear

We’ll tell you what we found and the few habits that keep it from coming back.

“They got the repair done right in record time the first time, but also was friendly, knowledgeable and went above and beyond.”

Good questions

Kitchen drain FAQ

Should I use chemical drain cleaner?

We would skip it. It rarely clears a grease clog, it can damage older metal pipes, and it makes the job dangerous for whoever opens the drain next.

Does running hot water with grease help?

It only moves the grease a few feet further before it cools and sticks. Let grease cool in a can and put it in the trash.

Can coffee grounds go in the disposal?

Better not. They don’t break down, and they settle into the grease in the line like sand. Eggshells and rice cause the same kind of trouble.

How often should a kitchen drain be cleaned?

Most homes never need it on a schedule. If yours clogs more than once or twice a year, there is probably something in the line worth a camera look.
