Getting the size right
A lot of commercial water heater trouble starts with the wrong size. A unit that’s too small runs out during the lunch rush. One that’s too big costs money heating water nobody uses.
We look at how many fixtures and appliances pull hot water at your busiest hour, what temperature your dish machine needs, and how much space and gas or power you have.
- Peak demand at your busiest hour
- Temperature for dishwashing and sanitizing
- Gas line size or electrical capacity
- Space, venting, and room to grow

Commercial water heater FAQ
Tank or tankless for a restaurant?
Both can work. Tankless saves space and won’t run out, but it needs enough gas supply. A large tank handles big bursts of demand well. We’ll look at your kitchen and recommend one.
How long does a commercial unit last?
It depends on how hard it works and your water, but commercial units work much harder than home units. Regular flushing makes a real difference.
Can you replace it without shutting us down?
We’ll plan the swap around your hours, usually before you open or after you close.
What temperature does my dish machine need?
It depends on the machine and whether it sanitizes with heat or chemicals. Check the data plate or the manual, and we’ll make sure the supply matches.
