What breaks a commercial drain line
Older buildings in Pensacola often have cast iron or clay drain lines that crack, rust through, or separate at the joints. Roots find the gaps. Settling ground can leave a low spot in the pipe where waste collects.
Cleaning clears the symptom. A repair fixes the cause, so the line stops backing up every few months.
- Backups that return soon after cleaning
- Wet or sinking spots in the lot or the floor
- Sewer smell inside or around the building
- Roots coming out every time the line is cleared

Drain line repair FAQ
How do I know if the line is broken or just clogged?
If it backs up again within weeks of being cleared, or the cleaning brings up dirt or pieces of pipe, it’s probably broken. A camera shows for sure.
Will you have to dig up our parking lot?
Sometimes, but often not. Trenchless methods and small access pits keep digging to a minimum.
Can the work be done while we are open?
Often, yes. We’ll plan around your hours and keep the time you can’t use water as short as possible.
What does failing cast iron look like?
Rust scale, cracks along the bottom of the pipe, and rough walls inside that catch waste. It’s common in older commercial buildings.
